Lamin A/C and emerin are critical for skeletal muscle satellite cell differentiation
Article Abstract:
A study to show that cultured muscle cells from lamin A/C knockout mice exhibit impaired differentiation kinetics and reduced differentiation potential is presented. These studies indicate roles for A-type lamins and emerin in myogenic differentiation and also suggest that these effects are at least in part due to decreased endogenous levels of other critical myoblast proteins.

The polycomb Ezh2 methyltransferase regulates muscle gene expression and skeletal muscle differentiation
Article Abstract:
Ezh2 expression was developmentally regulated in the myotome compartment of mouse somites and its down-regulation coincided with activation of muscle gene expression and differentiation of satellite-cell-derived myoblasts. Both Ezh2 and YY1 were detected, with the deacetylase HDAC1 at genomic regions of silent muscle-specific genes.
