Mammalian SIRT1 represses forkhead transcription factors
Article Abstract:
The deacetylation and repression of the activity of forkhead transcription factor - Foxo3a and other mammalian forkhead factors by the mammalian SIR2 ortholog SIRT1 is reported. The speculation over the down regulation of the two classes of damage - responsive mammalian factors, favoring longer life - span under specific environmental conditions is presented.

Parc: a cytoplasmic anchor for p53
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Parkin-like ubiquitin ligase Parc. The authors report the identification of Parc as cytoplasmic anchor protein in p53-associated protein complexes, and inform that this protein regulates p53 subcellular localization and function.

Negative control of p53 by Sir2alpha promotes cell survival under stress
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate that mammalian Sir2alpha interacts with p53 inhibiting deacetylation of p53 as well as enhancing acetylation of p53 in vivo. Data also suggest that Sir2alpha represses p53-dependent apoptosis during DNA damage and oxidative stress.
