Mapping the mutation causing lens luxation in several terrier breeds
Article Abstract:
The mutations underlying the condition in miniature bull terriers and Lancashire heelers mapped by the association analysis of a genome-wide microsatellite screen is presented. It defined an interval of 5.5 Mb on chromosome 3 containing a mutation associated with primary lens luxation (PLL), a painful and blinding inherited condition.

Characterization of Bovine TGMI and exclusion as candidate gene for ichthyosis in Chianina
Article Abstract:
Two rare, inherited forms of ichthyosis are reported in cattle and both are characterized by autosomal recessive transmission. The mutations of transglutaminase 1 (TGM1) gene were investigated as a candidate for the diseases in cattle as they are associated with autosomal recessive ichthyosis in people.
