Metabolic engineering of the Phenylpropanoid pathway in Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Article Abstract:
A study that described the production of naringenin and pinocembrin by construction of the phenylpropanoid pathway in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae was conducted. The objective of this study was to create a host for the biosynthesis of naringenin, the central precursor of many flavonoids.

Saccharomyces cerevisiae engineered for xylose metabolism exhibits a respiratory response
Article Abstract:
DNA microarrays were used to investigate how transcriptional regulation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae differs for xylose and glucose metabolism is discussed. Xylose-grown cells were predominantly aerobic and one could improve xylose fermentation by blocking respiration.
