A role for hematopoietic stem cells in promoting angiogenesis
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate that in the endothelial cell development, hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) play an important role as shown by a developing embryo lacking hematopoiesis. Data indicate that in the deficient embryo, angiogenesis of the head and pericardium is affected suggesting the requirement of HSCs in the angiogenesis

Negative regulation of BMP/Smad signaling by Tob in osteoblasts
Article Abstract:
Results show that the bone remodeling mediated by osteoblasts and osteoclasts is controlled by osteoblast proliferation and differentiation through bone morphogenetic protein and Smad proteins. Data indicate Tob is an antiproliferation protein and negatively regulates the above process by suppressing the activity of the Smad proteins.

Mice lacking a transcriptional corepressor Tob are predisposed to cancer
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on tob gene, a member of antiproliferative family genes. Results demonstrate that tob mRNA levels are often decreased in human cancers, and that tob affects cancer development.
