Molecular fingerprinting of Cryptosporidium oocysts isolated during water monitoring
Article Abstract:
The development and validation of a method for genotyping oocysts from microscope slides that involve retrieving the entire water concentrate sample dried onto a microscope slide is reported. The basic findings reveal that Cryptosporidium species/genotypes occur in UK aquatic environment and a sensitive approach is needed to find the extent of environmental contamination with accepted and 'novel' species of Cryptosporidium.

Novel Cryptosporidium genotype in wild Australian mice (Mus domesticus)
Article Abstract:
Mouse fecal specimens collected from crop farms in Queensland, Australia are tested to determine presence of Cryptosporidium species. The results suggest that wild Australian mice that are not in close contact with livestock have no Cryptosporidium infection risk for humans and other animals.

Physical inactivation of Toxoplasma gondii oocysts in water
Article Abstract:
The study explains the physical inactivation of Toxoplasma gondii oocysts in water. The inactivation occurs on being exposed to pulsed and continuous UV radiation.
