Selection under negative linkage disequilibrium: random mating versus inbreeding
Article Abstract:
Random mating versus inbreeding and selection under negative linkage disequilibrium are discussed with the conclusion that it is very likely that recurrent selection under forced random mating in self-pollinating crops would give better responses. An experiment was carried out to test the theory that the negative disequilibrium generated by selection is likely to be much larger under certain circumstances than that in a random-mating population.

Power of QTL mapping experiments in commercial Atlantic salmon populations, exploiting linkage and linkage disequilibrium and effect of limited recombination in males
Article Abstract:
The power and accuracy of combined linkage disequilibrium linkage analysis (LDLA) is assessed to detect the quantitative trait loci (QTL) in the commercial population using simulation. The results have indicated that even with the existing recording structure in commercial salmon breeding programmes, there is considerable power to detect and accurately position QTL and LDLA.

Pol IV is a matchmaker of small RNAs meeting with chromatin
Article Abstract:
The dynamic spatial and temporal behaviors of the silencing effector complex in RNA-directed DNA methylation (RdDM) are studied. The disruption of DNA-dependent RNA polymerase Pol IV, RDR2, DCL3 or AGO4 genes has caused decreased cytosine methylation and short interfering (siRNA) accumulation at repeat loci.
