Monitoring genetic diversity in tropical trees with multilocus dominant markers
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted on genetic diversity in tropical trees using genetic markers called amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP), which are dependent on fixation index (F) of populations. Results obtained through a modeling approach reveal that monologues evaluation of genetic diversity varies strongly with variations in the value of F but the multilocus estimate is surprisingly robust to variations in the value of F.

Limited pollen dispersal and biparental inbreeding in Symphonia globulifera in French Guiana
Article Abstract:
A study of the mating system and gene flow of Symphonia globulifera, a hermaphroditic, mainly bird-pollinated tree species is reported. In trees at distances up to 150 m more genetically similar than expected at random, significant spatial genetic structure was detected.
