Mouse models for human lung cancer
Article Abstract:
The non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small-cell-lung cancer (SCLC) are the mouse models for lungs cancer permit to study the consecutive steps involved in initiation and progression and allows addressing various questions. They need to be validated as suitable preclinical models for intervention studies in which questions with respect to therapy response and resistance could be addressed.

Distinct roles for cysteine cathepsin genes in multistage tumorigenesis
Article Abstract:
Null mutations of four cysteine cathepsins are used to analyze their individual roles in cancer development. Analogous increases were detected in cathepsin expression in human pancreatic endocrine neoplasms, and a significant association between increased levels of cathepsis B and L and tumor malignancy.
