No genetic correlation between the sexes in mating frequency in the bean beetle, Callosobruchus chinensis
Article Abstract:
A study to check the genetic correlation between the sexes in mating frequency in Callosobruchus chinensis was conducted. Result showed the reason why females in Callosobruchus chinensis remate despite suffering fitness costs cannot be explained by indirect selection resulting from selection on males to mate multiple times.

The Hill-Robertson effects extend from nucleus to mitochondria
Article Abstract:
Hill-Robertson effects on the mitochondrial genome extended to the W chromosome are expected to explain why the level of polymorphism on the W in chicken is dramatically low. These results are also gaining interest with respect to a debate on the relationship between mitochondrial DNA polymorphism and population size.

Evolutionary genetics of lifespan and mortality rates in two populations of the seed beetle, Callosobruchus maculatus
Article Abstract:
The substantial genetic variation in lifespan and mortality rates within and between two populations of the seed beetle, Callosobruchus maculatus, is examined. The ways in which the mean adult lifespan and the shape of the logistic mortality curves differed substantially between males and females are discussed.
