Transformation of triclosan by Trametes versicolor and Pycnoporus cinnabarinus
Article Abstract:
Results show that the antimicrobial triclosan compound undergoes a transformation into a conjugate compound during its metabolism in Pycnoporus cinnabarinus. Data indicate that the conjugate is less cytotoxic and showed a lower microcidal activity.

Novel ring cleavage products in the biotransformation of biphenyl by the yeast Trichosporon mucoides
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the yeast Trichosporon mucoides grown on glucose or phenol. The ability of this yeast to transform biphenyl into mono-, di- and trihydroxylated derivatives hydroxylated on the aromatic rings has been investigated.

Dehalogenation of chlorinated hydroxybiphenyls by fungal laccase
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the chlorinated hydroxybiphenyls. The transformation of these hydroxybiphenyls via laccase produced by Pycnoporus cinnabarinus has been investigated, and the use of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry is described.
