Pyruvate fermentation by Oenococcus oeni and Leuconostoc mesenteroides and role of pyruvate dehydrogenase in anaerobic fermentation
Article Abstract:
The heterofermentative lactic acid bacteria Oenococcus oeni and Leuconostoc mesenteroides are able to grow by fermentation of pyruvate as he carbon source. The enzymes of the pathway were present after growth on pyruvate, and genome analysis showed the presence of the corresponding structural genes.

Use of enrichment culture for directed evolution of the Vibrio fluvialis JS17 (1)-transaminase, which is resistant to product inhibition by aliphatic ketones
Article Abstract:
A novel high-throughput screening method that overcame product inhibition was used to isolate a mutant (1)-transaminase from Vibrio fluvialis JS17. The identified mutant enzyme (1)-transaminase showed significantly reduced product inhibition by aliphatic ketone.
