PCR assay of the groEL gene for detection and differentiation of Bacillus cereus group cells
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Bacillus cereus group bacteria. The authors have characterized these bacteria via groEL gene sequencing, and they report that these group bacteria can be differentiated into similar clusters by the sequences of the protein-coding gene, and that the identification and differentiation of B. cereus group cells can be carried out via the use of PCR and PCR-restriction fragment polymorphism methods.

Formation of pseudo-terminal restriction fragments, a PCR-related bias affecting terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis of microbial community structure
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the use of a fingerprinting technique in molecular microbial ecology, terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis of PCR-amplified genes. Results demonstrate that additional terminal restriction fragments occur in terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis of amplicons from cloned 16S rRNA genes.

Targeting single-nucleotide polymorphisms in the 18S rRNA gene to differentiate Cyclospora species from Eimeria species by multiplex PCR
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Cyclospora and Eimeria species. The authors describe the nested-PCR protocol and MAMA PCR concepts applied for detection of these species, and report the development of the multiplex PCR assay for the differentiation between Cyclospora and Eimeria species.
