Participation of women in human biology
Article Abstract:
Trends in women's participation in human biology as indicated by membership in the Human Biology Association and by authorship of articles published in the Association's journal are described. The extent to which females have been the subjects of human biology research is also examined.

Life history and the early origins of health differentials
Article Abstract:
Several epidemiologic models concerning the fetal origins of later health risk are evaluated from the perspectives of evolutionary and developmental biology. The study has yielded insights into the several domains that pertain to the early origins of later differences in health.

Mixed-longitudinal analysis of growth data from Malian adolescent girls: evidence for compensatory gain?
Article Abstract:
Most Malian girls, like their US counterparts, tend to reach their peak height by age 12, although Malian girls tend to show a longer growth spurt. This data may reflect compensatory growth or gain, and is partly supported by cross-sectional data.
