Positive selection in the evolution of cancer
Article Abstract:
A hypothesis that forms of antagonistic coevolution have forged strong links between positive selection at the molecular level and increased cancer risk is presented. The genes involved in such systems promote cancer risk as a secondary effect of their roles in antagonistic coevolution, which generates evolutionary disequilibrium and maladaptation.

The evolution, maintenance and adaptive function of genetic color polymorphism in birds
Article Abstract:
The theoretical and empirical knowledge of the evolution, maintenance and adaptive function of color plumage traits for which the expression is mainly under genetic control is studied. The genetic color polymorphism provides an important and original insight on the adaptive function of conspicuous traits.

Parasitic exploitation as an engine of diversity
Article Abstract:
Parasitic exploitation is described to occur within and between a wide variety of taxa in a plethora of diverse contexts. They generate substantial genetic and phenotypic polymorphism within species, which is indicated by theoretical and empirical analysis.
