Regulation of invasive cell behavior by taiman, a Drosophila protein related to AlB1, a steroid receptor coactivator amplified in breast cancer
Article Abstract:
Research reveals that taiman gene encoded steroid hormone receptor coactivator is related to AlB1 and is required for cell motility. Its mutation results in defects in the follicle and border cells migration in the ovaries of Drosophila. Data also indicate that the coactivator stimulates invasive cell behavior in breast cancer tissues.

Paracrine signaling through the JAK/STAT pathway activates invasive behavior of ovarian epithelial cells in Drosophila
Article Abstract:
The Janus Kinase/Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription (JAK/STAT) signaling pathway converts the border cells in the Drosophila ovary from stationary to migratory, invasive cells. Data indicate that the Unpaired (UPD) ligand regulates this pathway and ectopic expression of UPD or JAK induce epithelial cells to migrate.

A role for Drosophila IAP1-mediated caspase inhibition in Rac-dependent cell migration
Article Abstract:
The migration defect is suppressed due to the overexpression of the Drosophila inhibitor of apoptosis 1 (DIAP1), which is encoded by the thread (th) gene. An apoptosis-independent role for DIAP1-mediated Dronc inhibition in Rac-mediated cell motility is suggested.
