Reinforcement of reproductive isolation between adjacent populations on the Part Grass Experiment

Article Abstract:

A debate whether natural selection plays an important role in reinforcing reproductive isolation during the earliest stages of speculation is presented. It is shown that this has occurred atleast once in populations of the grass Anthoxanthum odoratum, growing in the Part Grass Experiment where flowering time has shifted at the boundaries between plots.

Increased heterozygosity and allele variants are seen in Texel compared to Suffolk sheep

Article Abstract:

A comparative study of the Suffolk and Texel sheep breeds for microsatellite marker heterozygosity is given. The results propose that previous selective sweeps may have reduced numbers of alleles and levels of heterozygosity in the Suffolk breed.

Fine-scale genetic structure of grape phylloxera from the roots and leaves of Vitis

Article Abstract:

Genetic variation in phylloxera from a vineyard block is examined. The findings suggest limited dispersal of root and leaf feeding phylloxera and factors other than vine host to be important that contribute to clonal structure within populations.
