Simultaneous display of multiple foreign peptides in the FliD capping and FliC filament proteins of the Escherichia coli flagellum
Article Abstract:
The applicability of the capping protein FliD for display purposes and the flagellum display was developed into a multihybrid surface display system in which three different foreign peptides are expressed simultaneously within the same flagellum that is at the tip and along the filament. It showed that FliD is successfully used in bacterial surface display.

Host species-specific metabolic fingerprint database for enterococci and Escherichia coli and its application to identify sources of fecal contamination in surface waters
Article Abstract:
A metabolic fingerprint database of two recommended fecal indicator bacteria enterococci and Escherichia coli was developed to trace the sources of fecal contamination in surface waters. It was found that the developed metabolic fingerprint database was able to distinguish between human and animal sources as well as among animal species.

Construction of a multihybrid display system: flagellar filaments carrying two foreign adhesive peptides
Article Abstract:
Research describes construction of a flagellum carrying two different recombinant flagellins of flagellin subunits in Escherichia coli. Data demonstrate that a fibronectin-binding 115-mer peptide and a 302-mer collagen-binding peptide can be inserted into a flagellum as revealed by adhesion and immunochemical tests.
