Smoothened mutants reveal redundant roles for Shh and Ihh signaling including regulation of L/R asymmetry by the mouse node
Article Abstract:
Research shows that in the mouse embryo the multipass membrane protein Smoothened, involved in Hedgehog signaling, acts epistatic to Ptc1 to facilitate Shh and Ihh signaling. Data further show that Hedgehog signaling within the mouse node determines left/right asymmetry.

Structures of the alphaL I domain and its complex with ICAM-1 reveal a shape-shifting pathway for integrin regulation
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on integrin alphaLbeta2 I domain. The structure of this domain demonstrates open ligand binding conformation and integrin Ig superfamily interface.
