Succession and regulation factors of small eukaryote community composition in a lacustrine ecosystem (Lake Pavin)
Article Abstract:
The structure and dynamics of small eukaryotes (cell with a diameter less than 5mu m) are studied over two consecutive years in an oligomesotrophic lake (Lake Pavin in France). Changes in small-eukaryote structure are analyzed using terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (T-RFLP) and cloning and sequencing of the 18S rRNA genes.

Diversity and distribution of marine microbial eukaryotes in the Arctic Ocean and adjacent seas
Article Abstract:
Microbial eukaryote diversity in perennially cold arctic marine waters is analyzed by using 18S rRNA gene clone libraries. The results have shown the dominance and diversity of radiolarians and the presence of novel lineages in diverse protist groups.
