Generation of superhelical torsion by ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling activities
Article Abstract:
Research shows that ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling generates negative superhelical torsion in DNA and chromatin during gene regulation. Data indicate that all Snf2p-related ATPase motors possess this activity as exemplified by the yeast SWI/SNF complex, Xenopus Mi-2 complex, recombinant ISWI and BRG1.

Regulation of CSF1 promoter by the SWI/SNF-like BAF complex
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the mammalian BAF complex which regulates gene expression via modifying chromatin structure. The genes activated and the genes repressed by the BAF complex in SW-13 cells have been identified and the model in which the BAF complex promotes Z-DNA formation stabilizing the chromatin structure at the human colony-stimulating factor 1 has been created and described.
