Temporal and spatial profiles of chitinase expression by Norway spruce in response to bark colonialization by Heterobasidion annosum
Article Abstract:
A multiusable process is created which is called the real-time PCR procedure to check the colonization of Norway spruce by Heterobasidion annosum and it could also identify 1to 2 fungal cells/860 cells. To scrutinize the function of chitinases in host defense of Norway spruce, the speed at which Heterobasidion annosum colonization takes place must be checked and the expression of chitinases in two clones with specific disease resistance.

Ecological constraints limit the fitness of fungal hybrids in the Heterobasidion annosum species complex
Article Abstract:
A study to point out reasons behind rarity of interspecific Heterobasidion hybrids in nature although different taxa are present abundantly is conducted. Results conclude the main reason is lack of understanding of types of habitat that may represent viable hybrid zones.
