Can you go home again?
Article Abstract:
The abandonment of academic life in favor of biotech and then returning to academia is not a feat that faculty scientists perform easily, but many scientists have accomplished such a move. It is not easy to move easily between the two because in the past few years, industry has invested heavily in new research tools and the way research is done is so foreign to anybody in academia that industry has no need for anybody coming out of academia in the 21st century.
