Molecular properties of bacterial multidrug transporters
Article Abstract:
Multidrug transporters are a major impediment in the care and treatment of patients as they confer resistance to several of the antibiotics that are in use now. This review discusses the genetic basis and physiological and molecular mechanisms governing the microbial antibiotic resistance are discussed.

The lactococcal secondary multidrug transporter LmrP confers resistance to lincosamides, macrolides, streptogramins and tetracyclines
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the secondary multidrug transporter LmrP. The role of this transporter in the resistance to a variety of clinically important antibiotics used to fight infectious diseases has been investigated and discussed.

Distribution and physiology of ABC-type transporters contributing to multidrug resistance in bacteria
Article Abstract:
The distribution of ABC-type multidrug resistance (MDR) transporters in bacteria is analyzed. The analysis of MDR transporters has resulted in the construction of new generation of drug-hypersensitive strains.
