Pre-mRNA splicing alters mRNP composition: evidence for stable association of proteins at exon-exon junctions
Article Abstract:
Evidence for stable association of proteins at exon-exon junctions is discussed relative to pre-mRNA splicing. The splicing has been shown to change mRNP composition. Several proteins that associate with mRNA exon-exon junctions only as a result of splicing were found through use of a novel in vitro crosslinking approach.

Splicing enhances translation in mammalian cells: an additional function of the exon junction complex
Article Abstract:
An essential step in eukaryotic gene expression is the removal of introns from nascent transcripts by premRNA splicing. The means by which splicing affects downstream mRNA metabolism is by altering the implement of bound proteins that, together with the mRNA comprise the mRNP.

The pioneer translation initiation complex is functionally distinct from but structurally overlaps with the steady-state translation initiation complex
Article Abstract:
The concept that nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) in mammalian cells, which occur during pioneer round of translation that targets CBP80- bound mRNA, is examined with the help of different experiments. Results show some similarities between pioneers round of translation and steady-state translation apart from the differences and further research needs to be carried out to determine the same.
