Toxic effects of Ag(I) and Hg(II) on Candida albicans and C. maltosa: a flow cytometric evaluation
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Candida albicans and Candida maltosa. The role of the Ag(I) and Hg(II) in the cells of these bacteria has been investigated via the flow cytometric procedure employing anionic membrane potential-sensitive dye, trimethine oxonol and propidium iodide.

Cytolytic toxin Cyt1A and its mechanism of membrane damage: data and hypotheses
Article Abstract:
The author reviews the publications on cytolytic toxin Cyt1A. The topics of interest include the role of this toxin in mosquitocidal activity, and its potential in synergistic mixtures of Bacillus thuringiensis preparations and in fighting insects' resistance to B. thuringiensis toxins.

A flow-cytometric gram-staining technique for milk-associated bacteria
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on milk-associated bacteria. The authors describe the use of a gram-staining technique developed to investigate the staining of bacteria with wheat germ agglutinin and hexidium iodide followed by flow-cytometric detection.
