Unlocking streptomyces spp. for use as sustainable industrial production platforms by morphological engineering
Article Abstract:
A successful morphological engineering of industrially important streptomycetes through controlled expression of morphogene ssgA is described. This has led to improved growth of many industrial and reference streptomycetes with fragmentation of mycelial clumps resulting in major growth rates in hatch fermentations of Streptomyces coelicolor and Streptomyces lividans.

Production of eight different hydride complexes and nitrite release from 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene by Yarrowia lipolytica
Article Abstract:
The role of hydride complexes in the transformation of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) and the elimination of nitro groups by Yarrowia lipolytica AN-L15 and other organisms is examined. The release of nitrite by the protonated dihydride complex isomer has provided a pathway for the complete degradation and detoxification of TNT.

Influence of Vitamin [B.sub.12] and cocultures on the growth of dehalococcoides isolates in defined medium
Article Abstract:
The growth of Dehalococcoides ethenogenes 195 is described in a defined mineral salts medium, improved growth of strain 195 when the medium is amended with high concentrations of vitamin [B.sub.12]. The growth of D. ethenogenes strain 195 in defined medium is optimized by providing high concentrations of vitamin [B.sub.12].
