painless, A Drosophila gene essential for nociception
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on nociception in Drosophila. The authors have investigated the nociception paradigm, and report the identification of Drosophila mutant painless which cannot sense noxious mechanical and thermal stimuli and which is expressed in chordotonal and multidendritic sensory neurons and is required for sensory neuron activation.

The BARD1-CstF-50 interaction links mRNA 3' end formation to DNA damage and tumor suppression
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the mRNA polyadenylation factor CstF which interacts with the BRCA1-associated protein BARD1. The role of the BRCA1/BARD1 in the DNA repair has been investigated, and the theory that the inhibition of mRNA processing is linked to DNA damage has been tested.

When the message goes awry: disease-producing mutations that influence mRNA content and performance
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the mutations causing disease. The articles dealing with the diseases resulting from the mutations which affect mRNA metabolism have been reviewed and discussed.
