A new methodology for aggregating tables: summarizing journal quality data
Article Abstract:
A left-censored model was developed to provide scholars with information about the importance of a journal as a publication outlet and a basis of comparison between the journal and other studies. The model is applied to five sets of journals' ranks to arrive at a summary set to show cumulative information. The score on which the rank is based follows a normal distribution with unknown mean and the same variance. Maximum likelihood estimates were used to calculate the means and the summary ranks. The summary ranks were then compared with those arrived at from an independent estimate of journal quality.

Bank strategies toward firms in decline
Article Abstract:
Firms in decline depend on banks, and the strategies of the banks have a tremendous formative effect on the futures of declining companies. This study identifies four strategies that banks adopt when dealing with firms in decline, and sets out to identify the one strategy preferable to banks. The study concludes that banks prefer to work with firms in decline instead of taking legal action, and that firms can co-opt a favorable attitude that nurtures this tendency toward cooperation.
