A new wireless device delivers your e-mails right into your hands
Article Abstract:
There is a new wireless e-mail device that works extremely well.It is eLink agent, from American Mobile in Reston, Virginia. The hardware consists of a tiny hand-held e-mail machine, the Interactive Pager 850, made by Research in Motion. The service is provided by a radio-based network, Ardis, operated by American Mobile. ELink agent lets the user send and get e-mail from almost every city and location. It is tiny, lightweight, runs on a single AA battery. It holds at least 1,200 partial e-mails, and can be programmed to restrict incoming e-mails. Despite its tiny size the RIM 850's keyboard works better than any other. The only drawbacks to the eLink Agent are its attempts to also be an organizer. the calendar, to-do list and contact manager are clunky and awkward. But for wireless access to your Internet e-mail account, the eLink Agent is a great choice.

Apple's new features on operating system may take it mainstream
Article Abstract:
In tests of Apple's revised OS X, known as OS X 10.1, on a Macintosh iBook consumer laptop, the new version performed better than the original version of OS X in all the basic tasks. The 10.1 can handle Windows-type file extensions, burn CDs and play DVDs without glitches. The revised OS X is a significantly improved product and would be a good choice for frequent users who don't use a lot of older programs that have yet to be upgraded.

This communicator is a breakthrough in hand-held devices
Article Abstract:
The new wireless hand-held Treo 180 from Handspring is a true hybrid that combines the best in a personal digital assistant with the best in a cellphone. It can run most of the thousands of programs written for the Palm, and its phone can be used in both the U.S. and Europe. The product's problems are too minor to detract from its outstanding capabilities. The Treo will cost $399 and will be available in January 2002.
