A virtual cellular manufacturing approach to batch production
Article Abstract:
The experiment presents a virtual cellular manufacturing system (VCM) capabilities to adapt to changes in the shop conditions and at what conditions is VCM more effective for small batch manufacturing. Results show that VCM displays better performance and flow time in various operating conditions. It was also proven that VCM systems can adapt more to demand variations. Details of the experiment is given.
