Accounting is questioned in lawsuit against iVillage; allegations come as public offering nears
Article Abstract:
Former chief financial officer, Joanne O'Rourke Hindman, accuses iVillage Inc. of accounting improprieties, as the company prepares to go public. Two other former employees, Todd L. Kenner and Steven D. Carter, have also filed suits claiming iVillage denied them promised stock options. iVillage says it can't comment, because of the pending stock offering, but that a recent audit by PricewaterhouseCoopers showed the company was sound. Securities industry analysts say the offering for the women's internet service provider is likely to proceed.

Broadcast.com faces risks after strong initial offering
Article Abstract:
Broadcast.com Inc. has been favorably received by investors, despite the fact that radio and television tranmission over the Internet has not been technologically successful so far. Recently, the first day of the company's initial public offering shares opened at $68, almost four times higher than its $18 offering price. Broadcast.com was founded by Mark Cuban and Todd R. Wagner. They began putting the broadcasts of a Dallas radio station onto the Internet through a computer in a friend's bedroom.
