Argentina Pres Carlos Menem called for further investigation into the known torture deaths of 4,000 people, and suspected deaths of 10,000 more, who opposed the government when the military ruled from 1976 to 1983. A naval officer confirmed the existence of some of the activities in Mar 1995.

Egypt charges Israel with POW deaths
Article Abstract:
Allegations by Egypt that Israeli forces killed prisoners of war taken during the 1967 Arab-Israeli War were proven when two mass graves were uncovered in 1995 in the Sinai Desert. Egypt wants a full accounting of the killings, but Israel said it would not investigate the actions.

Civil war deaths said to top 144,000

The civil war in Lebanon between 1975 and 1990 resulted in over 144,000 people killed and almost 200,000 wounded. Lebanon's economy has not been able to recover from the impact of the war.
