Amazon.com, eBay post blazing growth

Amazon.com and eBay Inc. keep on pleasing investors and analysts with their growth. Volatility doesn't seem to stop anybody, as long as it's Internet-related. Growth for eBay has been in registered users and goods up for auction. Amazon had a stellar fourth quarter, still without profit, just smaller losses. The book, music and video seller plans to keep on investing heavily in order to gain market share.

Amazon.com sales more than triple, boosting online bookseller's shares

Amazon.com had its best holiday season ever, a record $6 million worth of shipments in one day, more than tripled sales in the fourth quarter, but still is not turning a profit. The online bookseller that added videos and music to its merchandise line is four years old but investing heavily in marketing and customer service. Sales for the quarter came to $250 million.
