The founder's self-assessed competence and venture performance
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine the relationship of personal variables of an entrepreneur and the success of a business. The sample consisted of 134 firms, 84 manufacturing and 50 service oriented. A questionnaire was developed to determine the founder's characteristics concerning his entrepreneurial role, managerial role and technical-functional role. The results indicate that a highly successful business has a founder who rates himself highly on the three roles. The ramifications of this study are presented.

Article Abstract:
A study showing that larger initial team size in venture capital companies has positive effect on the company. The study also shows that the advantages of addition or removal of team members depends upon the development state of the organization and the dynamism of the environment.
