Australia suffers a micro-macro chasm
Article Abstract:
Australian exporters tend to have a "micro" focus, while the government, concerned with international agreements, has a "macro" focus. Business to miss out in election spending
Article Abstract:
The Australian federal government has about $6.5 bil to spend on measures that attract votes, but business will not benefit from this. Chris Richardson, a director of Access Economics, argues that elections will be close and there is money available to sway voters. Furthermore, because of the healthy economy, business ranks last in spending priorities.
