BP, Amoco to sell about 150 gas stations; firms also expected to end some contracts to gain FTC merger approval
Article Abstract:
British Petroleum and Amoco would like to start the new year with a fresh set of books as a merged company. Toward that end the two companies announced the plan to sell about 150 gas stations and to terminate supply agreements with hundreds more in several states. The two are in talks with the FTC still negotiating to get that approval by year-end. The FTC is said to be taking a closer look at the deal since the announcement of Exxon's bid to buy Mobil.
