CBOT and Chicago Merc discuss merger but no announcement is expected soon
Article Abstract:
Ongoing discussions by high-level officials about a possible merger between the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade have not yet produced any results. Industry analysts have said that a merger between the two exchanges may be delayed by continuing concerns over competing alliances of exchanges and technological conflicts. Both exchanges, which trade an array of financial and agricultural options and futures, are considering moving toward 24-hour electronic trading on their exchanges.
