Better risk management: a key to improved performance
Article Abstract:
Better risk management can be a key to improved performance for a firm constrained by slim margins and tight control. Usually such matters are dealt with intuitively and inconsistently, but room for error is small. Innovation and avoiding risk are in conflict with one another, but innovation is part of performance. Infomation flow should be improved, time lags shortened, because potential difficulties are not seen early enough and clearly, and training in project evaluation enhanced. Types of errors are reviewed.
