Strategic operations management decisions and professional performance in U.S. HMOs
Article Abstract:
A survey of executives of health maintenance organizations (HMOs) studied the relationship of operations management decisions regarding organization, personnel management, quality management and planning and control, with clinical process and outcome performance. Results showed that management decisions affect HMO clinical performance and that performance can be improved by applying suitable management practices.

Evaluation of carton packing rules for high volume operations
Article Abstract:
Examination and analysis of 16 commonly practiced procedures used by warehouses to pack large numbers of different sized boxed products into shipping cartons has helped design the best procedures to achieve the best performance. Using a computer program to simulate the carton packing process comparing findings to the best company operations disclosed procedures for reducing the empty space in shipping cartons.
