Australian Stock Exchange officials are not worried about the computer system's ability to handle the huge Telstra float despite its crash during peak trading on Oct. 29, 1997. A new program, the Stock Exchange Automated Trading System (SEATS97), will not be operational in time for the float. SEATS97 can handle 100,000 trades, compared to the current system's 65,500.
