Breast-implant pact revised

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co, Baxter Healthcare Corp and 3M proposed a new silicone breast implant damage settlement plan on Oct 2, 1995. The new plan, if approved, would replace the 1994 plan and would pay out smaller awards to the women affected. Dow Corning Corp is not part of the plan.

Implant suits bankrupt Dow Corning
Article Abstract:
Dow Corning filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on May 15, 1995, as a result of thousands of personal injury lawsuits against it. Women claimed that Dow's silicon breast implants had given them health problems, and the FDA later banned the implants.
