Charles Schwab and Co. cuts down on web banner advertising in favor of more strategic contracts for long term relationships with online services. Schwab would rather advertise on web sites specifically aimed at a certain target group than to be one of a number of banners on a more general service. Some see potential of missing many new accounts by limiting scope of advertising.
