Electronic paper: fulfilling the promise
Article Abstract:
A central concept to achieving some portion of the paperless office ideal is an 'electronic paper' technology that enables the electronic transfer of any kind of document (including multiple fonts, embedded graphics and photographs) across any computer environment and any distance. Sixty percent of the time of business professionals involves document handling. Current technologies, though, do not easily support transfer of complex documents electronically. What is required to achieve viable electronic paper technology are a totally device-independent format for self-contained documents and a program that can display or print the document on any system. PostScript-language files include most of the required characteristics of electronic paper, but software drivers are required to add font outline information into the document and support viewing and printing processes. Such hardware technologies as high-speed font-rasterizing chips will facilitate the implementation of electronic paper.

Can't Get Off the Ground
Article Abstract:
Regent Air Corporation is a luxury airliner service. The company has exhausted its original capital in three months and is trying to raise capital. They are currently running on emergency loans. The price for the stock has fallen considerably since it was issued. The ticket costs had to be cut in order to be competitive. Marketing mistakes account for some of their problems. Even the airlines's auditors doubt the airline could remain a going concern through 1984. The Perlman brothers own the airline and are trying to make it a success. The Perlmans have been very successful in business so their interest in the airline gives it credibility.

In the beginning, there was controversy ..
Article Abstract:
The important book 'The Bible as History: How Writers Create a Past' reveals there is no proof of the reality of the myths surrounding Solomon, Moses, David and Goliath. Religious people before the 18th-century Enlightenment were aware of the allegorical nature of Bible stories. When Enlightenment historians directly attacked the Scriptures, the religious defended their beliefs as literal truth.
