Changing the deal while keeping the people
Article Abstract:
Corporate restructurings necessitate the modification of the psychological contracts between the company and the employees. This can be done by altering the existing contract to suit the present situation or by creating an entirely new contract. Making a new contract has four phases: the shortcomings of the existing contract are reviewed, preparations are made for the new contract by gathering data, the new contract is established and the performance of the new contract is monitored.

A career lexicon for the 21st century
Article Abstract:
The advent of the 21st century will be accompanied by changes in the meanings of terms used to describe concepts relating to careers and organizations. The term boundary, for instance, which used to refer to a division between hostile and familiar territory will mean something to overcome in one's career. The term career will no longer refer to professional advancement but to changes in an individual's work experiences.
