Australian exporters, businesses and economists are targeting Chinese cheques as well as those from Japan, South Korea and Thailand, bypassing South-East Asia, seeking the new economic horizons booming in North Asia. Foreign investment obviously relies on economic stability and South-East Asia has dangerously tarnished its record in the competitive economic arena in recent years.

Article Abstract:
The improved state of Australia with its small and open economy, which is determined by the trade sector, is examined. The main reason outlined for recovery of Australia in 2004 from last year when exports stalled and imports increased is the improvement in the world economy, led by the United States.
