Article Abstract:
An analysis of consultancy services and their effectiveness. "Chocolate consultancy" services are identified as those that are ineffective, giving the recipient of the service a short-term boost but in the long term leaving them worse off. "Placebo consultancy" services leave the recipient of the service neither better nor worse off. "Congruent consultancy" is identified as the effective form of consultancy that has a positive impact on the recipient.
