Agencies rediscover Grand Central Station
Article Abstract:
New York City's Grand Central Terminal, built in 1913, is being used as the backdrop for many print and TV advertising campaigns. After the 1998 remodeling of the historic landmark, Grand Central no longer allowed advertisers to lease sign space inside of the terminal. Since the restoration work was done movie producers, television production companies and advertisers have been using the terminal as a location three times more than it was used in the past.

Chrysler mulls ads saying it's not dead yet

The Chrysler component of German-American DaimlerChrysler AG is trying to decide which of several new ad campaigns, developed by PentaMark, it will use. The company, beset by financial troubles, layoffs and management disorganization, plans a risky tack in its new ads using gallows humor to make it clear to consumers that it is 'alive and kicking.'

Madison Avenue plays on antiques' lure

Many ad agencies are devising TV ads for clients that spoof Americans' obsession with the public TV program 'Antique Road Show.' Popular TV shows have provided fodder for many TV ads. Both Sprint PCS and the New York State Lottery have spoofed the 'Road Show' in ads developed by agencies Publicis and Hal Riney and Grey Worldwide.
