Presidential candidate Bill Clinton won primaries in California, Ohio, Alabama, New Jersey, New Mexico and Montana, winning the Democratic nomination. George Bush won the Republican primaries in all six states. Exit polls determined that many Democratic and Republican voters would have voted for Ross Perot.
