Co-opetition without borders
Article Abstract:
Co-opetition pertains to cooperation by companies with their business rivals involving jointly developing technologies. A survey conducted by Anja Schmiele and Wolfgang Sofka showed that although proprietary knowledge should be protected since it serves as a competitive edge against rivals, still partnerships between companies are rampant due to development costs and risks.

Does corporate governance matter?
Article Abstract:
Holger M. Mueller and Xavier Giroud studied the influence of the provisions of anti-takeover laws on the performance of companies. Results of the study showed that change in the hostile takeover laws affected the noncompetitive industries, but a change in corporate governance in competitive industries has no impact.
